WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL DAY 2014
"Women's issues are human issues. Far-reaching concerns like gender equality, education, and access to markets affect men and women alike at work, home, and in our communities. That's why Bloomberg is amplifying its support of International Women's Day by hosting 60 events in 20 cities, up from 20 events in 11 cities over last year."
- Six TYWLS of Queens young women attended Women's International Day.
- Five 11th graders, (Najah Holland,Chelsea Forde, Diksha Kaur, Jordyn Harrison), and one 12th grader, (Shantel Green). TYWLS Queens was one of only 2 other high schools in Attendance!
- The students attended speed mentoring and media workshop for high school and college students.
- The young women networked with employees from the Mayor's Office,Bloomberg Employees in both Business and Media
- They also met Director and college students from CUNY Macaulay Honors Program
- The young women also met Physicists and Biochemists from India, Latin America, Africa etc.
